We get all sorts of different requests which are obviously upsetting to the homeowner - especially if its maggots!

A call at 8pm the other night had maggots falling out of the over the shove exhaust and believe it or not this is common when rats or possums die either from baits or they get trapped inside the roof and can't find their way out.

It's different in summer you would definitnely smell the bodies by this stage that maggots are on the body of the animal but in winter they keep for a little longer.

We have even had maggots dropping from the down lights.

WHAT WE DO...

We will retrieve the body and dispose of it BUT replace with an odour bag one that does not mask the smell but actually absorbs the smell.

FAILED THE TERMITE TEST?

If you are wanting to sell a property quickly nothing stops prospective buyers when the words "termites found" stands out on a pest report.

This happened to a customer this morning who had a buyer ready to sign on the dotted line when he re-read a report that there were termites found in the garden beds and had found mud tracks leading into the house.

This buyer was then able to say he was keen to buy but NOT until the termites were treated. This cost the owner a termite barrier and repair to the structures.

This is not an isolated case it happens over and over again when we go in after one of our bigger multinational companies does a job before us.

As a Canberra based and fully Australian owned business, we find that the bigger companies charge a lot more for doing less!

Here is our story, a client rung us at 8pm last night to say that he had called the multinational company who came to do a visual termite inspection and charged $400 to view and say the termites were in one area of the home.

SOLUTION TO POSSUM PEST CONTROL

There is a lot of building going on in Canberra at the moment and we get calls for possum removal. What happens is that the possums (they travel in pairs) will sometimes get trapped in the ceiling and can not find their way out and sometimes that they die in the ceiling and starve to death.

SOLUTION

We now have one-way traps that will allow the possum to get out from the ceiling but NOT get back in allowing the property owner to repair the space that they are gaining access.

The trap is set on the roof and is a simple solution for some of our customers. Please ring Bob 0407 065 413 to either hire the trap or have us remove the possum.
